My Ambar is an online application, developed with the purpose of providing the most reliable, accurate, and easy to understand information about gender-based violence and its impact.
It is intended for anyone who has been affected by this type of violence, whether as a victim, a witness, or a survivor.
The application provides support in a number of ways:
- Crisis Support: If you or someone you know is experiencing an emergency, you can use the emergency button to send a message to your contacts and get immediate help.
- Bridging the self-awareness gap: Sometimes, even after the abuse has happened, you don't know why you're acting the way you are. You may be afraid to leave the house or afraid to talk to your friends and family. This application has a number of self-assessment questions that can help you better understand your emotions and behaviour.
- Demystify the Legal and Medical Complexities: Sometimes, the consequences of the violence you have witnessed or experienced are greater than you can imagine. You may be worried about what will happen to you if you report the abuse, you may be afraid of what your friends and family will do, you may feel confused and even trapped in the relationship you have with the abusive person. You may feel like you can't move on and you may feel that no one understands you. This application has information and resources to help you deal with these issues.
- Getting help: You can find organizations and services in your area or city. If you feel that you need help, you can get in touch with the organizations that can provide you with the support you need.
